The Hydro Mech has genuine charm: Lloyd piloting an underwater walker is exactly the kind of absurd Ninjago energy kids eat up, and the build itself delivers a solid dose of posable mech fun. The problem is LEGO® priced this one like the box was heavier than it is. Two minifigs and 228 pieces for $19.99 is a tough sell in a theme where better-valued sets are always a shelf away. The build experience is short and breezy — satisfying enough for a younger fan, but not a set that lingers. Display presence is modest; mechs at this scale tend to look a little lost unless they've got company. It's not a bad set, just a set with bad pricing. If you find it marked down, the calculus changes fast.
