Early read · 3 reviews
Nine dollars for 78 pieces and a small duel scene — Jay versus Serpentine deserves a better deal than this. The minifigs carry the whole package, but there's barely enough build to call it a set.
Is the price fair?C-Too steep for this little real estate — the D grade says it all.
Will you love it?B-Ninjago fans will like it; everyone else will feel the thinness.
Holds its value?C-Flat trajectory — nothing here to push secondary prices up.

The Full Take
The Epic Battle sets from 2021 were a clever concept — a frozen-in-time duel, shelf-ready drama, character storytelling in miniature. Jay vs. Serpentine lands the concept but stumbles on price: $9.99 for what amounts to a tiny platform and two minifigs is a tough sell when comparable packs offer more substance. The minifig pairing is the real draw, especially for Ninjago fans filling out a roster, and the diorama presentation has a certain charm. But the build wraps up fast and leaves you wanting a third of it more. It's a set that knows what it wants to be — it just doesn't quite justify the entry fee to get there.
