The Skull Sorcerer's Dragon is one of those sets that overdelivers where it counts. Seven minifigs for under eighty dollars is a ratio you rarely see at this price point, and the dragon itself has enough scale and menace to hold attention on a shelf or a play table. The build clocks in at over a thousand pieces, which means there's real substance to the experience — not padding, but actual construction with a satisfying result. Where it stumbles is in the accessories and secondary elements that feel thin relative to what the box promises. Still, the core — a big dragon, a villain worth the name, and a crowd of characters to build a story around — is hard to argue with. At $79.99 this was sharp value at launch, and it remains one of the better Ninjago flagship sets from this era.
