The Full Take
Kai's Mech Jet lands a clean B+ by doing the fundamentals right without overcomplicating anything. The minifig count for the price is hard to argue with — two named Ninjago characters in a sub-$20 box is the kind of ratio parents and collectors both notice. The mech-jet hybrid design gives it a distinct silhouette that reads well on a shelf without demanding a lot of real estate. At 226 pieces the build moves fast, but there's enough going on mechanically to keep it from feeling thin. Where it stumbles is the long game — appreciation is weak, and this one is more of a use-it set than a wait-on-it set. For the price though, it's difficult to call it anything but a fair deal.
