Arkham Asylum might be the best thing to come out of The LEGO® Batman Movie line, and that's not a low bar when you look at what this theme delivered. The asylum facade is dripping with gothic detail — gargoyles, barred windows, that unhinged color palette — and it holds up as a centerpiece even years later. Thirteen minifigs is a staggering haul: Killer Croc, The Riddler, Poison Ivy, Two-Face, and a wave of others make this feel like a Batman villain starter pack. At $149.99 for 1628 pieces, the price was right at launch and still looks fair in hindsight. The build itself rewards patience, with enough architectural complexity to keep experienced builders engaged. Where it stumbles is on the investment side — this one has not grown the way you'd hope for a retired set of this size. Buy it for the shelf, buy it for the fun, just don't count on the aftermarket to do you any favors.
