The Garma Mecha Man is one of those sets where the price does most of the heavy lifting, and for once that's a compliment. Four minifigs in a $60 set is a flex, and the mech's scale gives it genuine shelf presence — it's not a small thing. The build itself is competent without being groundbreaking; there are interesting structural choices in the torso, but it's not going to blow a seasoned builder's mind. The Movie-era Ninjago aesthetic is loud and very 2017, which either ages it charmingly or awkwardly depending on your taste. Kids absolutely got their money's worth out of this one — the mech is big, it's poseable, and Garmadon as a villain never got old. On the resale side, it's not a collector darling, so don't expect the secondary market to reward patience here. What it is, though, is a well-rounded set that justified its shelf space from day one.
