The LEGO® Ninjago Movie wave had a rough time landing with collectors, and Master Falls is a decent example of why. The waterfall aesthetic is pleasant enough — there's some layered rock work here that shows effort — but the overall build resolves into something pretty small for the shelf space it claims. Four minifigs sounds like a win until you realize three of them are characters most kids couldn't name two years after the movie released. At $29.99 on the shelf, the price-to-experience ratio stings; this was a set begging for a clearance tag to make it click. It's not a bad set — C+ means there's something here — but it's one you buy on sale or skip without much regret.
