743 pieces for a hundred bucks in 2026 is a tough sell — Coast Guard sets used to feel like a deal, and this one just... doesn't. The boat itself looks clean and the five-minifig crew gives it real play energy, but LEGO® is charging flagship prices for a mid-tier City set.
Is the price fair?C+A hundred dollars for this is a stretch — City has spoiled us with better value than this.
Will you love it?B-The theme delivers and the crew count is right, even if nothing here blows the doors off.
Holds its value?C-Standard City retirement trajectory — don't expect the secondary market to bail you out.

The Full Take
Coast Guard is one of City's most reliable sub-themes — rescue missions, water action, crew dynamics — and this set checks the playability boxes well enough. Five minifigs for a rescue scenario is the right call, and the boat design looks shelf-worthy without being spectacular. The build experience across 743 pieces is solid but unlikely to surprise anyone who's put together a City vehicle set before. Where it stumbles is the price tag: a hundred dollars in this piece range feels like LEGO® leaning on the Coast Guard brand rather than delivering something that justifies the premium. A B- on love says fans of the theme will have a good time — just not a great one. The hold score is where things get quietly grim; City rescue vehicles rarely become must-have retirement targets, and nothing here screams exception. Buy it because your kid loves rescue boats, not because the box demands it.
