The Police Boat is a capable City set that does what it promises: a crewed watercraft, a clean build, and enough moving parts to keep a kid busy for an afternoon. Three minifigs give you a full crew without feeling stuffed, and the boat's silhouette reads well from across a room. The problem is the price — $34.99 is a stretch for what's on the table, and LEGO®'s City line has spoiled us with better-packed sets at similar tags. The build itself is competent but unremarkable; nothing here will make an experienced builder stop and think. For the right kid, though, it's a fun afternoon that doesn't overstay its welcome. Just don't expect the price to feel like a win when you're standing at the checkout.
