City's space sub-theme has been on a legitimate roll lately, so landing a C on Galactic Spaceship stings a little. The ship itself is fine — 717 pieces gives you a decent-sized build with some fun angles — but nothing here pushes the craft forward or makes your jaw drop. Five minifigs is solid for a set at this tier, yet the overall design feels like it was greenlit before anyone asked whether kids or collectors would actually want it on a shelf. Eighty dollars is where the real problem lives: at that price, this needs to over-deliver on either play value or display presence, and it does neither confidently. It's the kind of set you finish building and think 'that was fine,' which at $79.99 is a quiet indictment.
