The Full Take
The Space Science Lab lands in that frustrating middle ground where the set itself is likable but the price tag keeps getting in the way. The lab build is solid — clean lines, good use of space theming, and enough detail to feel like a proper scientific outpost rather than a toy room playset. Three minifigs is light for this price point, and that's a problem when the figures are often what justify City set costs. The build experience is pleasant without being memorable — 560 pieces that go together smoothly but won't leave you talking about any single moment. Display-wise it holds up, but it's not commanding shelf space the way a set at this price should. For the right buyer — someone who loves the 2024 City Space wave and wants to round out a collection — it works. For everyone else, patience for a sale is the smarter play.
