The Full Take
The alien life angle is doing a lot of heavy lifting here — it's what separates this from a generic rover kit and gives the set actual personality. The build itself is compact but considered, with a rover that looks purposeful and a little alien creature that kids will immediately love. Four minifigs in a set this size is generous, and the space explorer aesthetic is clean enough to sit on a shelf without embarrassment. The problem is $34.99 for 311 pieces is a tough sell when comparable City sets give you more room to breathe. It's not a bad set — it's a mispriced one, and that gap is hard to overlook when you're standing at the store shelf doing the mental math.
