Robot World's central gimmick — a whole civilization of robots running a city — sounds wild on paper, and LEGO® mostly delivers on that premise. The problem is $99.99 for 986 pieces in 2024 is a tough sell no matter how charming the concept is.

The Full Take
The idea of a robot-run city is genuinely one of the more creative concepts LEGO® City has tried in years, and the set wears it well — colorful builds, eight minifigs, and enough story baked into the layout to make it feel like a place rather than a playset. The build itself is solid without being spectacular; nothing here will blow a seasoned builder's mind, but it clips along at a satisfying pace with enough variety to stay interesting. Where it stumbles is the sticker on the box. A hundred dollars for under a thousand pieces puts this deep in overpriced territory by any reasonable measure, and that shadow hangs over an otherwise likable set. Display-wise, it has personality — the robot aesthetic gives it shelf character that a standard City set lacks. Resale is middling; City sets rarely light up the secondary market, and nothing here screams future grail. Buy it because the concept delights you, not because the math does.
