The Full Take
There's something satisfying about a LEGO® set that commits completely to its bit, and Prison Island does exactly that. The island layout gives you genuine scene separation — water, shoreline, fortified walls — so it reads as a place rather than a pile of buildings. Seven minifigs keeps the storytelling engine running, with enough cops and crooks to stage a proper chaos. The helicopter and patrol boat aren't afterthoughts; they're built into the fantasy so the whole thing works together. At $99.99 for what you get, the price is the one place this set stumbles — it's not a rip-off, but it's not generous either. Still, as a City flagship play set, it delivers the kind of lived-in drama that made City sets worth buying in the first place.
