The crime lab concept sounds cool until you see what $55 buys you — five minifigs and a truck that doesn't quite justify the ask. There's fun here, but LEGO® charged premium for a mid execution.
Is the price fair?B-$55 for this truck is a stretch — the concept is cool, the execution isn't $55 cool.
Will you love it?BFun premise, decent minifig lineup, forgettable build — you'll enjoy it, just don't expect to be wowed.
Holds its value?C-City sets rarely move the needle at retirement, and this one won't break the pattern.

The Full Take
A mobile crime lab is a genuinely clever City premise — forensic gear, a truck, cops and crooks all in one box. The five minifigs give you an actual cast of characters, and the play scenarios write themselves. But the build itself doesn't match the concept's ambition; 674 pieces at $54.99 feels like LEGO® leaning on the theme to carry weight the set doesn't earn on its own. Kids will dig it, builders will find it forgettable, and the shelf presence is more parking lot than display case. It lands as a solid B- because the idea is good and the play value is real — just don't let the crime lab branding talk you into thinking this is a standout set.
