The Fire Command Truck is a competent City build that checks every expected box and almost none of the exciting ones. It's a big red truck with some gear, three minifigs, and a drone — nothing here is going to surprise you mid-build. The set is clearly aimed at kids who love fire trucks, and on that front it works fine: the vehicle is chunky, sturdy, and fun to roll around. But $64.99 for 502 pieces in 2023 is a tough sell when the competition — even within LEGO®'s own City lineup — gives you more action for less. The build itself is straightforward, no particularly clever techniques or memorable moments. If a kid in your life is obsessed with fire trucks, this scratches the itch. Everyone else can probably wait for a sale.
