The Ski and Climbing Centre has the right instincts: multiple activities, a solid minifig count, and enough going on that it photographs well. But $119.99 is doing serious heavy lifting for what 1045 pieces actually delivers here. City sets live or die on playability and shelf presence working together, and this one leans hard on the former without fully nailing the latter. The climbing wall and ski lift give kids real stuff to interact with, which saves it from being a total miss. The build experience itself is competent but light on the kind of clever techniques that make you stop and think mid-build. It's the kind of set that reads better in the box art than it does assembled on a table. A $90 price point would have made this an easy recommendation; at $120, you're paying for the theme, not the execution.
