The Full Take
The Lunar Space Station has a lot going for it on paper — five astronaut minifigs, a rotating modular design, and that clean white-and-blue NASA-ish aesthetic that City Space does well. The build itself is satisfying in parts, with the docking ring and swappable modules giving it a sense of function that pure display sets lack. But $79.99 for 500 pieces is where this set loses the room, and it's hard to shake that feeling throughout. The playability is real — kids can actually dock and undock the modules — but a parent eyeing the shelf price against the box size is going to hesitate. It earns a B- overall because the concept and the minifig lineup are strong enough to carry it past the price sting, barely. Retired or on sale, it becomes a much easier yes; at full MSRP, you're paying a premium for the license to say 'space station' on the box.
