The Mail Plane isn't trying to be anything more than a quick Saturday afternoon build for the youngest LEGO® fans in the room, and that's fine. The plane itself is chunky and colorful in the way City's entry-level sets do best — recognizable from across the room, sturdy enough to survive the carpet. One minifig and 74 pieces won't satisfy anyone who's already graduated to Creator or Technic, but that's not the audience here. At $9.99 it slots in as a birthday card add-on or a reward-aisle grab without much friction. The build won't challenge an experienced builder for more than ten minutes, and the display case isn't calling for it either. What it does well is deliver a complete little scene — plane, pilot, story — in a format that works for the under-8 crowd it's clearly made for.
