Rocket Assembly & Transport
60229-1 · City
Based on 8 reviews · thin
A full rocket on a crawler transporter — City doesn't often go this big or this literal, and the sheer footprint of this thing commands attention. At $150 it's not cheap, but the set delivers a scene, not just a model.
Is the price fair?B$150 is a lot to ask for City plastic, even with the scale to back it up.
Will you love it?BThe complete launch-sequence storytelling is the hook — rocket, tower, and transporter together feel like a real set.
Holds its value?CModest retirement gains; this one's for fans, not flippers.

The Full Take
City sets rarely commit to a full narrative like this one does: you get the rocket, the assembly tower, and the crawler transporter all in one box — a complete launch-day scene rather than a single centerpiece. Eight minifigs populate it well, and the transporter's scale relative to the rocket is surprisingly convincing. The build itself runs long and varied enough to keep adults engaged, not just kids. Where it stumbles is the price — $150 is a stretch for a City set, and the parts aren't exotic enough to justify a premium on those grounds alone. Display presence is strong but horizontal: this thing sprawls rather than towers, so shelf space is a real conversation. Value retention has been modest post-retirement, which makes this firmly a buy-it-to-enjoy-it set. If the subject matter speaks to you, it delivers; if you're lukewarm on space ops, the price tag will feel like a push.
