Seven minifigs in a $99 City set is rare enough to notice, and the rocket looks the part too — LEGO®'s space program era hit different when they built at this scale.
Is the price fair?A+837 pieces, seven minifigs, a full launch complex — $99 was a fair ask and then some.
Will you love it?B-A rocket you can actually see from across the room, with a crew to match.
Holds its value?C-Retired quietly and stayed quiet — the secondary market never gave this one its moment.
The Full Take
Deep Space Rocket and Launch Control is what happens when City goes all-in on a theme instead of just dipping a toe. The rocket has real vertical presence — this isn't a stubby little display piece, it's a statement. Seven minifigs for the price is nearly unheard of in this range, and the launch control building gives the whole scene context that a standalone rocket can't. At 837 pieces the build is a proper afternoon project, not a quick assembly. The A- grade lands because nearly everything here delivers: scale, staffing, play setup. The one catch is resale — this set never found the secondary market legs its quality deserved, so buy it because you want it on the shelf or on the floor, not because you're watching a ticker.
