The Full Take
City Hospital is one of those sets that looks like a great idea on the box and feels like a compromise everywhere else. Thirteen minifigs is a genuine high point — doctors, patients, a helicopter pilot — and the modular-ish layout gives kids real room to play out scenarios. But $99.99 for 861 pieces was a tough ask in 2018, and it still is; the build itself is boxy and thin-walled in the way City buildings often are, without the clever detailing that makes the better ones worth the trouble. Display collectors will find it too chaotic and too flat for a shelf. The secondary market hasn't rewarded patient holders much either — it moved at retail without much fanfare and retirement didn't spark the kind of demand that drives prices up. If a kid in your life is deep into City play and specifically wants a hospital, this scratches the itch. Everyone else can probably skip it.
