786 pieces for $120 in 2018 was a tough ask, and the Arctic theme never quite commanded that premium — the base is sprawling and fun, but the price tag stings more than the cold.
Is the price fair?FOverpriced at launch and the market never forgot it.
Will you love it?B-Lots of vehicles and a full crew make it fun, even if the build won't blow anyone away.
Holds its value?C-Middling resale — it moved slowly at retail and the secondary market reflects that.

The Full Take
The Arctic Mobile Exploration Base is LEGO® City doing what it does best: cramming vehicles, a habitat module, and a full crew into one big playset. Six minifigs, a crawler, a snowmobile, and a research station give kids a lot to work with. The build itself is competent but not inspired — modular Arctic design tends to feel blocky, and this one is no exception. At $119.99 it launched at a price that made casual buyers flinch, which is probably why it moved slower than LEGO® hoped. The B- love grade tells the real story: there's fun here, just not $120 worth of wonder. If you catch it on sale, the Arctic setting and the vehicle variety make it a genuinely solid City set. At full price, it's hard to sell yourself on it.
