883 pieces for a hundred bucks in 2018 was a tough ask, and the mining site doesn't quite deliver the wow factor to justify it — functional, sure, but this set never escapes feeling like a background piece in someone else's diorama.
Is the price fair?FHundred-dollar ask for a set that builds like a $70 — the value math never clicks.
Will you love it?C+Solid play set with good vehicle variety, but don't expect any build highlights that stick with you.
Holds its value?C-Flat secondary market, slow appreciation — this one just sits.

The Full Take
City mining sets have always lived in that utilitarian corner of the LEGO® catalog — workhorses, not showstoppers — and the Mining Experts Site is a textbook example. The vehicle variety is decent and kids who are into construction equipment will find plenty to mess around with. Six minifigs give you a crew to populate the whole operation, which is a genuine plus for playability. But at $99.99, you're paying flagship money for a set that plays more like a mid-tier filler wave. The terrain layout is sprawling without being particularly interesting to build, and there's no single moment in the box that makes you stop and go 'oh that's clever.' It's competent City design doing exactly what it says on the box — nothing less, almost nothing more. If mining is your kid's obsession, fine; otherwise, this price point had better options in the same wave.
