663 pieces for $90 in 2018 was a tough sell, and this mountain police outpost never quite justifies the ask — but the terrain build and seven minifigs make it a solid play set that just got priced wrong.
Is the price fair?F$90 for this in 2018 was optimistic at best — the play set soul doesn't match the premium-tier price.
Will you love it?B-Vertical terrain, seven figs, and a clear narrative — more fun than it looks on paper.
Holds its value?C-Floats at retail, rarely climbs — not a set that rewards patience.

The Full Take
Mountain Police Headquarters landed in that awkward City sweet spot: chunky enough to feel substantial, fun enough for kids, but priced at a tier that invites scrutiny. The rocky cliff terrain is the set's genuine highlight — it gives the layout vertical drama you don't get from a flat precinct build. Seven minifigs sweeten the deal for play value, stacking the good-guys-vs-criminals scenario that City does best. The build itself is straightforward, nothing that'll make a seasoned builder stop and stare, but it clicks together with the purposeful confidence of a well-tested City design. Where it stumbles is the $89.99 price tag — at that number in 2018, LEGO® was asking you to take it on faith, and the parts inside don't quite cash that check. On the secondary market it floats, neither climbing nor cratering, which makes it a fine buy-to-build but a forgettable buy-to-hold. The enjoyment is real; the math just never was.
