Four minifigs in a City set at this price point is the kind of math that makes you double-check the box. The helicopter itself has real bulk and shelf presence, and the rescue scenario gives kids an actual story to play out.
Is the price fair?A+Generous for what you get — four figs and a full rescue scene under sixty dollars was a deal in 2017 and reads even better now.
Will you love it?B-A well-rounded rescue scenario with real play hooks, though it won't blow a seasoned fan away.
Holds its value?C-Resale has flatlined — this one's for playing, not parking in a portfolio.
The Full Take
The Heavy-Duty Rescue Helicopter delivers where it counts: four minifigs, a chunky aircraft with rotating blades and working winch, and a price that felt generous even at launch. The build has enough going on to keep older kids engaged without being so complex it loses younger ones. Rescue sets live or die by their scenario, and this one gives you enough props and secondary pieces to stage something. Shelf presence is solid — it's a big helicopter, and big helicopters look good displayed. The minifig variety (pilot, rescue diver, survivors) adds storytelling depth that plain vehicle sets skip. The one honest caveat: the secondary market has largely moved on, so this is a buy-it-to-use-it proposition, not a buy-it-to-hold one. As a play set, though, it punches well above its weight class.
