The 4x4 rescue truck looks the part, but $39.99 for a City set this size is a stretch — there are better ways to spend forty bucks in this theme.
Is the price fair?C-Forty dollars for what's here is a tough sell — City has done more for less.
Will you love it?B-Fun enough in the moment, forgettable shortly after.
Holds its value?C-Retires quietly, moves quietly — nothing here drives demand.

The Full Take
City rescue sets have a reliable formula: rugged vehicle, a couple of minifigs, and just enough accessories to sell the scene. The 4x4 Response Unit hits those beats without doing anything surprising. The truck itself is solid — boxy and purposeful the way a good City vehicle should be — but 347 pieces at this price point leaves you feeling like you paid a premium for the license, not the build. Three minifigs is fine, not exciting. As a shelf piece it blends in; as a build it moves fast and doesn't challenge. The playability is real for younger kids, and that's probably where this set finds its best argument. It's not a bad set — it's just priced like a better one.
