The build is a means to an end, not the point — if you're here for clever techniques and satisfying part counts, this isn't your set.
Is the price fair?A+Distributed as a promotional freebie — the price-to-concept ratio is absurd in the best way.
Will you love it?A+If stop-motion sounds fun to you, this kit makes it stupid easy to start.
Holds its value?C-Promotional sets with no minifigs and a gimmick tied to an app age poorly on the secondary market.

The Full Take
Make Your Own Movie is one of those sets that doesn't fit any normal category, and that's exactly what makes it interesting. It's a promotional GWP-style kit built around stop-motion animation — 36 pieces plus a downloadable app that turns your phone into a production studio. The piece count is laughably small, but the concept punches well above its weight. For what it cost (essentially nothing, given how it was distributed), the creative ceiling is genuinely high. Kids who get into it tend to REALLY get into it. It won't sit pretty on a shelf and it won't retire into a flip-worthy rarity, but as a gateway to a whole creative skill set, few LEGO® releases have been this quietly clever.
