The LEGO® Ninjago Movie tie-in line had some bright spots, but this isn't one of them. At 49 pieces and one minifig, the Movie Maker set feels like a pack-in bonus someone accidentally put a price tag on. The build is over before it starts, the display footprint is negligible, and the play value tops out in about four minutes. It's not offensively bad — it's just thin in every direction that matters. A D across the board isn't a knock on Ninjago; it's a knock on sets that exist to fill a shelf slot rather than deliver an experience.
