The Unimog is a legendary workhorse and LEGO®'s done it justice before — this crane variant lands at C+ because it's competent without being exciting, and $130 for a Technic utility truck is a tough sell when the wow factor never quite arrives.

The Full Take
The Mercedes-Benz Unimog has genuine icon status, and LEGO® Technic is a natural fit for it — so it's a little deflating that this crane version settles for functional over memorable. The build clocks in at 1,189 pieces which is respectable, but Technic at this price point needs more than a working crane arm and some yellow accents to justify the ask. Display presence is serviceable — it looks like a Unimog, which is something — but it won't stop guests in their tracks. The crane mechanism will get some mileage with kids who like fiddling, though the play pattern is narrow. At $129.99 it's not a rip-off, but it's not a deal either; you're paying full freight for a mid-tier experience. If you love the Unimog specifically, this scratches the itch. Everyone else might want to wait for a sale.
