The Full Take
Technic is supposed to be the line that challenges you, the one where the mechanism IS the point. This Excavator has 41 pieces and no mechanism worth mentioning — just a handful of beams arranged into the rough shape of something that digs. The D overall isn't a surprise when you hold the box and feel how light it is. There's no display payoff, no build satisfaction, no play depth, and the price sits in that frustrating zone where it's not cheap enough to be an impulse grab and not good enough to justify even that. Small Technic sets CAN work — the little Bugatti key chain proved that charm doesn't require part count. This one just never finds its reason to exist.
