McLaren's Formula E livery looks the part, but this is a Technic set that exists more as a licensing exercise than a build worth obsessing over — a C+ that's easy to walk past.
Is the price fair?A-Fair for the license, not a bargain for the build.
Will you love it?C-Looks right, feels forgettable — the build doesn't match the livery's energy.
Holds its value?C+Niche licensing sets like this rarely spike; expect flat secondary market performance.

The Full Take
The NEOM McLaren Formula E car has one of the more striking liveries in motorsport, and LEGO® did a decent job translating those colors into plastic. But 452 pieces at $49.99 is fair pricing for a set that doesn't push Technic's engineering anywhere interesting — there's no pull-back motor drama, no clever differential, nothing that makes you stop mid-build and appreciate the solution. The end result looks recognizable on a shelf but feels a bit hollow next to the flagship Technic racers. Formula E as a subject has real potential; this execution plays it safe. If the McLaren branding is your thing, the price won't sting — but don't expect it to light up the room.
