The Audi RS Q e-tron is a rally car that looks the part on the outside but leaves you wanting more once the build wraps up. Fairly priced for a Technic flagship, but the experience doesn't quite match the badge.
Is the price fair?A-The Audi tax is real, but it's not egregious at this scale
Will you love it?D+The build peaks early and coasts — not the immersive session you'd hope for
Holds its value?C+Decent brand equity, but not the kind of set that commands serious aftermarket premiums

The Full Take
Dakar Rally credibility should count for something, and the RS Q e-tron does cut a striking silhouette in Audi's livery. The problem is that 914 pieces at this scale should deliver a build that stays interesting from start to finish — and this one fades in the middle stretches. Technic fans will find some solid suspension work and functional differentials, but nothing that redefines the genre. The licensing premium is baked into $179.99, and you can feel it: the price is defensible, not exciting. As a shelf piece it reads well from a few feet away, but up close the panel gaps and hollow sections undercut the premium positioning. A B- feels right — a competent set wearing a very cool jacket.
