NASCAR Next Gen Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
42153-1 · Technic
Early read · 5 reviews
A NASCAR replica in Technic form sounds exciting until you realize there's nothing to pull you back to the box — the build is fine, the shelf presence is underwhelming, and the license does most of the heavy lifting.
Is the price fair?B+Fair-ish for a licensed Technic car, but the license is doing the pricing work here.
Will you love it?C-Competent build, forgettable result — the Camaro shape doesn't pop the way it should.
Holds its value?C+Steady but unremarkable — NASCAR Technic sets don't command the aftermarket premiums the big flagship models do.

The Full Take
NASCAR licensing costs money, and you can feel it in every corner of this set. The Camaro ZL1 shape reads clearly enough from across the room, but up close the Technic skeleton doesn't fill out the body panels the way you'd hope for fifty dollars. There's a working steering rack and some engine detail under the hood, which gives the build session a few genuine moments, but nothing that lingers. No minifigs, no dramatic mechanism, no display-worthy interior — just the car. For a kid who's deep into NASCAR, this scratches the itch; for everyone else it's a set that exists because the license exists. A C+ overall feels right: not a mistake to buy, but not a set you'll evangelize.
