Seven hundred dollars for a crane that looks the part but doesn't quite deliver the build satisfaction to match — the LR 13000 is more monument than masterpiece.
Is the price fair?A$700 for the scale makes sense on paper, but the build doesn't quite justify it the way the best Technic flagships do.
Will you love it?D+The repetitive assembly and limited functions mean the build high fades faster than you'd hope at this price.
Holds its value?C+Solid brand recognition and limited production give it a chance to hold, but don't bank on strong appreciation.

The Full Take
The Liebherr LR 13000 is one of those sets that wins on paper: a licensed real-world machine, 2883 pieces, and a footprint that commands a room. But $699.99 is a significant ask, and the build itself leans more toward repetitive assembly than the kind of clever Technic engineering that makes you stop and marvel. The crane's silhouette is legitimately impressive on display — the crawler base and boom structure carry real weight visually. Playability is minimal by design; this is a model, not a toy, and it knows it. At this price point, Technic fans with deep pockets will appreciate the scale, but anyone expecting the mechanical ingenuity of flagship sets like the Liebherr excavator may walk away wanting more. A B- overall feels right — it's not bad, it's just not as special as the price and the badge suggest.
