Heavy-duty in name, heavy on the wallet. The 2017-piece count sounds impressive until you realize most of that is holding together a truck that doesn't do anything particularly clever. The functions work — steering, outriggers, crane arm — but Technic fans have seen all of this before, executed better, at lower prices. There's no standout mechanism, no wow-moment mid-build, nothing that makes you set down the instructions and just stare. At $159.99 MSRP, LEGO® asked for flagship money and delivered a mid-tier experience. The tow truck form factor also limits its shelf appeal — it's bulky without being beautiful. A C- feels about right: functional, competent, and easy to skip.
