The Air Race Jet arrives with a bold premise and a steep price, and it only halfway delivers on one of those. At 1151 pieces, the build fills an afternoon, but Technic fans expecting the kind of mechanical ingenuity that justifies a $160 ask will find the interior surprisingly sparse on rewarding moments. The jet form factor looks aggressive from certain angles, but display presence is undermined by the awkward proportions that Technic aircraft tend to suffer at this scale. There's no minifig, no functioning cockpit gimmick worth bragging about, and the overall experience feels like a set that costs more than it gives.
