The Pet Centre's charm is real — four animals, a grooming station, a little vet room — but LEGO® wanted $60 for it in 2018, and that stings no matter how cute the build is.
The parts alone are worth about 107% of the MSRP — the basis for this D+ price read.
BargainThe parts alone are worth more than you pay — $64 of parts for $60.
Friends sets live or die by their play scenario, and a pet centre is one of the stronger concepts in the theme's catalog. You get a grooming area, a vet station, and just enough architectural detail to feel like a real place rather than a glorified playset backdrop. Three minifigs populate it well, and the animal selection — a cat, dog, bird, and rabbit — gives younger builders genuine variety to work with. The build itself is competent without being remarkable; nothing here will make a seasoned fan stop and study a technique. Where the set stumbles is the $59.99 ask, which was a tough sell when it launched and hasn't aged into a bargain. On the secondary market it's settled into average Friends territory — not a sleeper, not a dog (no pun intended). Buy it because a kid in your life loves animals, not because the math works out.
