The James Caird lifeboat carried Shackleton and five men 800 miles across the Southern Ocean — one of the greatest survival feats in history. This set carries considerably less weight. At $40 for 232 pieces, the price alone should give pause before you even crack the box. The build is competent but thin, and the finished model lacks the visual drama the source material absolutely deserves. Two minifigs help anchor the historical context, but they're doing a lot of heavy lifting for a set that feels more like a promotional capsule than a proper tribute. There's a good set hiding somewhere in this subject matter — this just isn't it.
