A 294-piece holiday train with zero minifigs and a price tag that refuses to make sense — the D isn't a surprise, it's a verdict.
The parts alone are worth about 130% of the street price — the basis for this C price read.
BargainThe parts alone are worth more than you pay — $23 of parts for $18.
Holiday train sets live or die on charm, and this one shows up underdressed. No minifigs means no conductor, no passengers, no life — just rolling stock on a shelf wondering where everyone went. The build itself is competent enough, a few festive details here and there, but nothing that makes you stop mid-build and think 'clever.' At the price LEGO® is asking, you're comparing it mentally to sets that deliver twice the experience, and this one blinks first. The C- on love and hold aren't cruel — they're accurate; this is a set that fills a seasonal spot without earning it. If you're deep in holiday LEGO® tradition, you'll finish it, display it for six weeks, and box it in January without much ceremony. The F on price is the anchor dragging the whole thing down.
