Eight minifigs crammed into a $40 set sounds like a win until you realize the Troop Carrier itself is basically a flying brick with landing gear. The minifig haul saves it from being forgettable, but just barely.
Is the price fair?C-Eight figs can't fully justify what LEGO® is asking for this one.
Will you love it?C+Prequel fans will find something to like, everyone else will shrug.
Holds its value?C+Modest secondary market ceiling — don't bank on this one moving the needle.

The Full Take
The Trade Federation Troop Carrier has always been a background prop in the prequels, and this set captures that energy pretty faithfully — functional, a little dull, not quite the centerpiece you'd want on a shelf. Eight minifigs for the price is the real argument here, stacking up Battle Droids and characters that prequel fans have been chasing. The build itself is straightforward, no real showstopper techniques, just a competent construction of a ship that was never designed to be exciting. At its retail price the value proposition feels stretched — you're paying for the license and the minifig count, not the complexity. It lands at a C overall, which is about right: not a set you regret, not one you race to the store for.
