Tahu and Takua returning to shelves is genuinely a moment — BIONICLE has a cult following deep enough that this set almost didn't need to be good. Almost. At $40, you're getting two small constraction-style builds with a piece count that would embarrass a mid-range City set. The build itself leans into that classic BIONICLE articulated-figure style, which will land differently depending on how much 2001 means to you. For the devoted fan, there's real joy in the character recognition alone. But nostalgia only carries so far when the price is this disconnected from what's actually in the box. An F overall isn't a judgment on BIONICLE — it's a judgment on what LEGO® asked you to pay for it. The IP deserved a comeback set that felt like a celebration, not a $40 test balloon.
