The Full Take
The Space Exploration Telescope sounds cooler than it looks. At $34.99 for 278 pieces and zero minifigs, you're paying a premium for a subject — space — that LEGO® usually handles with more swagger. The build is fine, inoffensive, the kind of set that sits on a shelf and makes people say 'oh, a telescope' before moving on. Creator 3-in-1 sets at this price point usually justify themselves with at least one clever alternate build or a surprisingly sturdy main model; this one doesn't quite clear that bar. It's not a disaster, but in a theme full of sets that punch above their weight, this one punches sideways. The D overall says it plainly: there are better places to put $35 in the LEGO® aisle right now.
