The T. rex is one of the most iconic creatures ever to walk the Earth, and LEGO® keeps circling it without ever quite landing the definitive version. This Creator 3-in-1 tries to split the difference between playable and displayable and ends up feeling like neither. The build itself is fine — chunky, recognizable — but at $59.99 for 626 pieces the price feels like LEGO® is banking on the dinosaur name doing heavy lifting. The three alternate builds sweeten the deal conceptually, but none of the three models feels fully realized. It's a set that kids might enjoy tearing apart and rebuilding, but anyone expecting shelf-worthy dino drama will be underwhelmed.
