359 pieces at $34.99 was a tough sell in 2017, and nothing about the build makes you forget the sticker shock. Island Adventures is a pleasant enough 3-in-1, but pleasant doesn't cut it at this price.
The parts alone are worth about 88% of the street price — the basis for this F price read.
FairParts are worth about 88% of the price — close to what the set is worth.
Creator 3-in-1 sets live or die by their alternate builds, and Island Adventures offers a seaplane, a boat, and a cabin — competent, none of them exciting. The primary build has some charm in its tropical color palette, but the overall construction feels thin for what you're paying. One minifig in a set this size always stings a little. The piece selection is serviceable rather than special — nothing here that makes a parts-hunter sit up. A C- overall isn't a disaster, but it means this set asks you to forgive a lot. The theme has produced far better entries at lower prices, which makes it hard to recommend this one without hesitation.
