E.T. in LEGO® form is a tall order — and this set mostly delivers on the face while quietly struggling everywhere else. Solid display piece, soft on everything else.

The Full Take
The subject matter is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. E.T. is an icon, and LEGO® Ideas gave the character a faithful brick-built treatment that will look at home on a shelf next to your Spielberg Blu-rays. But strip away the nostalgia and you're left with a 1226-piece set at $139.99 that doesn't bring much building drama or play value to the table. The lack of minifigs stings — even a tiny Elliott or a government agent would've made this feel complete. As a centerpiece for a dedicated movie shelf, it works. As a broad recommendation for the $140 ask, it's a harder sell. The B on price is fair — it's not a rip-off — but the C- on love says this one's for a specific kind of buyer, not everyone.
