Shopping Street is the kind of set that should be a no-brainer: modular-adjacent, bustling with life, seven minifigs populating a scene you want to live in. But $249.99 for 3458 pieces in 2026 is a hard ask when the build doesn't push any new ground and the streetscape feels more like a starter sketch than a finished block. The minifig selection is fine, the color palette is safe, and nothing about the construction will make a veteran builder pause mid-build to appreciate a technique. It's not ugly — it photographs well enough — but 'not ugly' at a quarter-thousand dollars is a rough value proposition. The B- hold score is the one honest bright spot: retiring sets in this theme tend to find buyers, so time might be kinder to this one than the build experience is. For now, though, Shopping Street reads as a set LEGO® priced like it knew something we don't — and we're not convinced.
