Toothless deserves better than this. At $70 for a buildable figure with no play features and a C- overall, the love just isn't there — the affection for the character is, but the set struggles to justify the shelf space.
Is the price fair?BSeventy dollars for a buildable figure with no standout moments — fair-ish, but it never earns enthusiasm.
Will you love it?C-The character carries more warmth than the build delivers.
Holds its value?BCharacter recognition keeps the floor up — not a great flip, but not a loss either.

The Full Take
The How to Train Your Dragon franchise has serious nostalgia weight, and Toothless is the crown jewel of that world — so it stings a little that this buildable figure lands as a C-. Seven hundred and eighty-four pieces sounds substantial until you're holding the finished product and wondering if it reads as well on the shelf as it did in the box art. No minifigs means this lives or dies on its sculptural merit, and the dragon silhouette is charming but not commanding. The price sits at a C — not a scam, not a bargain, just a set that doesn't fight hard enough for your $70. Display collectors will find it passable; builders will find the techniques competent but unremarkable; parents will find almost nothing here for a kid to actually do. The B on value retention is the quiet bright spot — limited character appeal means it won't crater, but it won't set any records either.
