The Full Take
The Artemis SLS is one of those sets that looks incredible in photos and then hits different when you see the bill. At 3,601 pieces it's a serious build — a cathedral of white and orange that earns genuine shelf respect — but $260 for zero minifigs and a rocket that most people can't display vertically without dedicated shelf height is a hard sell. The build itself has clever structural moments, especially in the core stage construction, but long stretches feel repetitive in a way that a 3,600-piece set probably shouldn't. It's not a bad set — the finished model is striking and the subject matter is legitimately cool — but the price grade is a D for a reason: LEGO® is charging Icons money for what is, functionally, a display piece with limited play and no figures. Buy it if the Artemis program means something to you. If you're just looking for a big impressive rocket, the math doesn't quite clear.
