$100 for a radio with no minifigs and a C- score is a tough sell — the nostalgia is real, but LEGO® is charging a premium for vibes alone.
The parts alone are worth about 127% of the street price — the basis for this D price read.
BargainThe parts alone are worth more than you pay — $125 of parts for $98.
The Retro Radio nails the aesthetic: chunky dials, a fabric grille, and that mid-century silhouette that looks sharp on a shelf. But 906 pieces at $100 with zero minifigs is where the romance starts to crack. The build has some clever detailing in the speaker and tuner sections, and fans of the Icons line will appreciate the care put into the form. That said, this sits in an awkward space — not complex enough to satisfy hardcore builders, not playful enough for kids, and not priced right for anyone watching their wallet. The C- overall score reflects a set that looks better in photos than it justifies in your cart. If the retro styling speaks to you personally, it delivers on shelf. Everyone else should wait for a sale.
